Below is information about how we are working to ensure everybody’s safety during Covid-19. There are also stories from some of our clients about how they continued to receive home care during Covid-19.
Safe working practices
During Covid-19 we have adapted how we work. Measures we have taken to reduce the risk of Covid-19 to our staff and clients include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – We have issued all staff with gloves, aprons, fluid repellent surgical masks and eye protection.
Hand hygiene – We have added specific hand-washing tasks to care plans. This adds an extra level of accountability by requiring staff to document their infection control actions.
Social distancing – Staff are required to maintain social distancing during their work as much as possible. They are expected to adhere to government social distancing guidelines outside of work.
Client communication – We have kept our clients informed about changes to the way we work. We are in regular contact with our clients to understand changes to their care needs during Covid-19.
Staff communication – We regularly update our staff with the latest information about Covid-19. We have been in regular contact with all our staff to support them during the pandemic.
Public transport – We have provided all staff with washable reusable masks to wear on public transport. Where possible we are scheduling rotas to help staff avoid busy times of day on public transport.
Client stories during Covid-19
Ruth B, client’s wife:
“”Professional” ,”Reliable”, “Thoughtful”, “Responsive”, “Friendly “, “Tailormade Packages of Care”
These were all recommendations that I had heard about Care Concern, and which influenced my decision to seek their help two years ago.
As time and life has progressed, I have felt increasingly, that this choice, made then, was the right one for us and that those adjectives about them were, and still remain, spot on.
Covid-19 has simply brought all of that into sharp focus, and it has been such a relief to know, that whatever the circumstances, Care Concern are there for us, providing us with their usual expertise and professionalism.
Thank you to all the team at Care Concern!”
Mandy A, client daughter:
“Care Concern provided invaluable support for my parents when I was unable to visit during lockdown. The carers maintained their usual high standard of care and were also able to cope with the odd emergency. The office continued to respond quickly to any problems or queries that we had.
OpenPASS is invaluable to me as I am able to check on my parents’ welfare at any time and it provided particular reassurance during lockdown.”
Zoe A, client’s sister:
“I have the upmost confidence in Care Concern’s care for my sister during this period of Covid-19. Their great communication has proved very reassuring for me.
Not only have they put-in place the necessary precautions, as you would expect, they provide friendly personal support which means so much to me as a family member.
Throughout lockdown, Care Concern have provided consistent care, sticking to the same routine (as much as possible). This has been great for my sister as it’s helped her to manage her anxiety in times of great uncertainty.
Care Concern are thoroughly professional and really do care.”
Wendy W, client daughter:
“Thank you and your wonderful carers for taking such good care of mum and keeping her safe during this difficult time. It is such a comfort to me being do far away knowing she is in such good hands.”
